Hobsons Bay, Victoria

Communities That Care Hobsons Bay helps children and young people thrive through programs and initiatives that have been shown to work. It achieves this by building the capability of the community, coordinating evidence-based activities, and strengthening collaborative partnerships.

A coalition of 11 community partners leads the project, which aims to reduce adolescent alcohol use and improve adolescent mental health, through a focus on the following risk and protective factors:

  • Reducing family conflict
  • Improving school commitment
  • Reducing parental attitudes favourable to alcohol use
  • Increasing opportunities in the community for prosocial involvement and recognition

Communities That Care Hobsons Bay is currently in Phase 5, Implementation and Evaluation, of the CTC process.
